Organisation
The aim of the IWKA is to spread the authentic Wing Tjun systems of Yip Man and Chi Sim throughout the world, as handed down in the direct lineage from it's founders until it's present day.
At the IWKA we value high teaching standards. We have no «secrets» and our curriculum offers a very structured way to learn Wing Tjun Kung Fu.
The Wing Tjun we teach differs from the majority of other schools and lineages, in the way that we don't rely on localised muscular strength.
Instead, we utilise sensitivity, footwork, structure and technique to deal with attacks that are delivered by stronger, or even faster people. We advocate the «soft» approach to Wing Tjun due to its virtually limitless possibilities.
Force against force (i.e. direct blocks instead of neutralization and redirection of power) go only so far and fail when the opponent is stronger, but the soft approach can be improved upon and utilised for a whole lifetime by anyone, regardless of size, strength or age.
Our Wing Tjun, due to its soft approach, is very direct, aggressive and devastating in its real-life application. Accordingly, our motto is «Less is More».
The IWKA founder Dai-Sifu Sergio Iadarola would like to thank GM Leung Ting, GM Allan Fong, GM Cheng Kwong, GM Tang Chung Pak, GM Sunny So and Sifu Cliff Ip for their teachings, for without them it would have been impossible to learn and systemize the IWKA Wing Tjun systems of Yip Man Kung Fu and Siu Lam Kung Fu and its unique teaching system.
